Genoa are investing heavily with reports they’ll sign Ricardo Quaresma and Giuseppe Rossi over the summer.
President Enrico Preziosi has been very busy over the past few days making plans for next season, as his club has qualified for the Europa League.
He announced Diego Milito and Thiago Motta will be joining Inter, while he says he has a deal for Hernan Crespo, Atalanta’s Sergio Floccari and possibly Robert Acquafresca too.
Today there are new reports that Preziosi is using the Milito-Thiago Motta transfer to bulk up his squad with some international quality.
Quaresma was signed for £20m from Porto last summer, but was a flop with the Nerazzurri and joined Chelsea on loan in January.
Genoa are hoping to use the strong links between clubs to prise the Portuguese international winger away in a temporary switch.
Another loan or potential signing would be Italian talent Rossi, who is increasingly unsettled at Villarreal and would relish the chance to make his mark in Serie A again.
Rossi complained when he joined the Spaniards that none of the big Italian clubs had really pushed for his signature despite a splendid few months on loan at Parma.
The former Manchester United youngster is now a full Azzurri star and Genoa would give him the opportunity to play regular first team football in an attack-minded team.
