The Amauri to Juventus transfer saga has taken another twist after Palermo chief Maurizio Zamparini hit out at the players agent.
An agreement for the switch was approved last night after Juve offered to hand over £9m, Antonio Nocerino and the co-ownership of Davide Lanzafame.
Personal terms were also ironed out before Zamparini was asked for a golden handshake by the Brazilians representatives.
I was very happy with all the deals, Zamparini said. However, I then received a strange call from these agents who asked me for £1.4m to sign the contracts.
I find this hard to accept and Im saddened.
I dont want to talk to [Mariano] Grimaldi any more. Lets do this if I dont hear anymore of this situation then Ill pretend nothing happened. Otherwise Amauri stays here.
However, Grimaldi was quick to respond and expects his client to be given what is due.
Zamparini needs to keep his commitments, he underlined. Hes the one who promised the player this money.
I dont understand why on the day that everything has been agreed, he is the one pulling things back.
We all know about the man Zamparini. As soon as he hears a transfer is done, he steps back. Its as if he doesnt want to sell Amauri.
Nevertheless, reports in the peninsula suggest that a deal will be done. The striker is expected to sign on Tuesday.
