Lazio Coach Delio Rossi received a three-match ban for “suggesting” the club contact Lecce ahead of their game in April 2006.
The conversation between Rossi and President Claudio Lotito was among the wiretapped phone calls used in the Calciopoli trial.
The prosecution demanded far stronger sanctions, accusing Rossi of demanding “pressure on the Lecce directors to get a submissive approach from the team in the upcoming Serie A game.”
However, the Disciplinary Commission decided the conversation “did not qualify as match-fixing, not even as an attempt.”
Rossi has been handed a three-match touchline ban and Lazio fined 10,000 Euros.
