Juve target Tevez 'likes Italy'
Saturday 16 May, 2009

Juventus are planning an £18m swoop for Manchester United outcast Carlos Tevez as his agent admits “he really likes Italy.”

The Argentine hitman has made it perfectly clear he feels unwelcome at Old Trafford and will be leaving at the end of the season.

“I know that the player really likes Italy,” confessed agent Adrian Alberto Ruocco to Calciomercato.it.

“So far there have only been minor conversations and no concrete talks. Carlos would like to play in a competitive League with the Italian, English and Spanish fitting the bill.”

According to this morning’s edition of Tuttosport, Juve are prepared to come in and pay £9m upfront to take Tevez on loan for a year.

After that period has expired, the Bianconeri offer another £9m to make the deal permanent, although that is only a starting point.

The owner of his contract, Kia Joorabchian and Media Sports Investment, want at least £28m to part with the striker.

The rumours were sparked when Joorabchian was spotted in the San Siro stands last Sunday for the Milan-Juventus match.

“At the end of the season we will evaluate the Tevez situation,” continued Ruocco.

“Manchester United have not started negotiations with us. There was a deadline to buy the player, months have passed since that date and he has continued to play under the old loan deal that expires on May 31.”
