Spanish reports claim Milan and Barcelona will discuss a sensational swap that sends Kaka to the Nou Camp and Ronaldinho and Deco to San Siro.
After disappointing campaigns, Milan and Barça are both expected to ring the changes in pre-season.
Over the last few months, the Rossoneri have made their interest in Ronaldinho known and are also said to be considering a move for Portuguese midfield wizard Deco.
The star duo are highly likely to leave the Nou Camp at the end of the season, having been frozen out of first-team plans and lost faith in the clubs direction.
While Milans war chest wouldnt cover two signings on this scale, it seems they could land the pair and add to their summer budget if they are willing to let prized asset Kaka leave.
According to Spanish newspaper Sport, the two clubs are due to meet before the end of the week when Barça President Joan Laporta will offer Ronaldinho, Deco and £16m in exchange for Kaka.
Other sources, such as La Gazzetta dello Sport, claim that Barcelona are ready to throw in Azzurri defender Gianluca Zambrotta as well, but that the Diavolo are asking for gifted striker Samuel Eto'o.
Despite the FIFA World Player of the Years repeated declarations of love for Milan and decision to extend his contact until 2013, it seems that Kaka remains a target for Laporta.
However, there are a vast number of potential stumbling blocks in such a deal and it would require weeks of pain-staking negotiations to broker what would be one of the most dramatic transfers in history.
