Mario Beretta rescued Siena from almost certain relegation, but the club won’t commit to a new contract. “We’ll talk about it.”
The Coach was brought back in Week 13 after a disastrous start to the season under Andrea Mandorlini, taking them out of the drop zone and safely into mid-table.
However, the temporary deal is still in place and so far the club does not wish to change that situation.
“I was told we would discuss my future when safety was under lock and key,” explained Beretta.
“That happened over a week ago and I have heard nothing. There is not much I can do about that except wait and see.”
Siena general manager Giovanni Lombardi Stronati confirmed negotiations were at a standstill.
“We will discuss everything with Beretta at the end of the season.”
The Robur bench has been linked to former Cagliari boss Marco Giampaolo.
