Milan: Drogba or Adebayor?
Saturday 10 May, 2008

Milan are looking to London for their new centre-forward – Didier Drogba or Emmanuel Adebayor – but Jose Mourinho’s future depends on the Azzurri.

Patron Silvio Berlusconi confirmed they were going to sign an old-style striker for the new campaign and the Corriere dello Sport newspaper suggests the prime target is Arsenal’s Adebayor.

Also of interest to Barcelona, the 24-year-old Togo hero could double his current wages with a move to San Siro and reunite with Mathieu Flamini.

Yet according to today’s Daily Mirror, the Rossoneri have agreed a three-year contract with Chelsea hitman Drogba, who has made it clear he is unhappy to stay on after Mourinho’s dismissal earlier this season.

This is certainly not the first time Milan have been linked with the Ivory Coast international, although the latest reports have another twist to them.

It is claimed Drogba will join the Diavolo if Mourinho takes over the reins at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

However, the element the Daily Mirror has not touched upon is the key to whether or not Carlo Ancelotti will depart.

Milan have repeatedly confirmed their faith in the Coach and he has no intention of leaving the club unless it is for the Italy job.

Should Roberto Donadoni fail to take the Azzurri to at least the Euro 2008 semi-finals, then Ancelotti would be sworn in as the new boss.

It means a long wait for all parties concerned to see what will happen in Austria and Switzerland.
