Delio Rossi urges Lazio to “strike while the iron's hot” as they go from beating Juventus in the Coppa Italia to facing Napoli.
“We have to play even better than we did midweek in the Coppa,” he said of the 2-1 victory in the semi-final first leg.
“Napoli are one of those sides who have done better at home than away, so to beat them we will need the highest level of Biancocelesti performance.”
Rossi could consider this an easier task, as Napoli are in crisis with one point from four games, but he is not fooled.
“They are coming off a difficult time and will take a very aggressive approach. They'll also be fired up by their fans, so it would be criminal for us to take on this game without motivation after the victory over Juventus.
“If anything it should be the opposite, as we must strike while the iron's hot. Each result has to bring us more confidence and belief, so I expect another positive step forward.”
The Lazio boss was asked to comment on Jose Mourinho's controversial statements about referees and an anti-Inter stance in the media.
“I cannot judge because I do not know him personally. Perhaps our football is unaccustomed to someone like Mourinho.
“I don't know if he said those things because he thinks them or if it was a precise strategy.”
Simone Del Nero, Mourad Meghni, Mobido Diakhite and Ousmane Dabo are out of action, but Stephan Lichtsteiner has recovered from a right ankle problem.
Mauro Zarate and Tommaso Rocchi are fighting for one place upfront alongside Goran Pandev.
