Felipe Melo has called those criticising Coach Cesare Prandelli “stupid and not really showing love for Fiorentina.”
The tactician is reconsidering his future after the UEFA Cup exit to Ajax prompted complaints from sections of the support and local media.
“People are a bit stupid, because Prandelli has been doing incredibly well at Fiorentina for four years,” snapped the Brazilian.
“After one bad game they point the finger. These people ought to use their heads a bit more. When the fans love their team, they should not be so critical after one bad game in four years.
“When a side qualifies for the Champions League, then gets attacked for one match, that is stupid, it’s not love.”
Felipe Melo and the Viola are focused on finishing in the top four again or even in third, as they are just two points adrift of Milan by taking on Palermo on Sunday.
“We are focused only on Fiorentina and our own work. If we do our jobs and Milan slip up, we can even finish third.
“Going out of Europe was not enjoyable, because a part of me always wants to play, but on the other hand it’s better as we have a whole week to prepare for the game.”
