CL: Juan starts at Bernabeu
Wednesday 5 March, 2008

Juan is fit to start in Madrid, as Roma go for an attacking formation with former Real right-back Cicinho and Alberto Aquilani.

Coach Luciano Spalletti had warned he was not sure whether to go with Christian Panucci or Cicinho for the Bernabeu encounter, but opted for the Brazilian who spent last season in this very stadium.

There were also some fitness doubts and Juan has recovered to start in central defence, but David Pizarro makes way for Aquilani.

There are no changes to the forward line, as Francesco Totti is supported by the usual trio of Rodrigo Taddei, Simone Perrotta and Amantino Mancini, leaving Ludovic Giuly on the bench.

The Merengues are without the injured Arjen Robben, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Christoph Metzelder, Pep Saviola, Wesley Snejder and suspended Sergio Ramos.

Robinho is back in the side, having missed the first leg, and will spearhead Real’s attempts to overturn a 2-1 deficit.

In defence Pepe also returns and Michel Salgado was picked ahead of Torres at right0back.
