Inter bid £20m for Didier Drogba, but Chelsea rejected the offer, according to one of the Ivorian's agents, Thierno Seydi.
The Nerazzurri have long been admirers of Drogba and reportedly met with him in London during the January transfer window.
Two offers arrived, one from Inter and the other from Manchester City. Didier was ready to leave, but the Chelsea directors wouldn't let him. This made Didier see just how much the club believed in him, Seydi concluded.
Inter Coach Jose Mourinho made Drogba the focal point of his Chelsea attack when he was in charge of the Blues between 2004 and 2007.
The two have a sound relationship based on mutual respect and often speak about one day reuniting.
