Roma defender Marco Motta is 'bewitched' by his new club and is still coming to terms with playing for the Giallorossi.
Motta joined Roma from Udinese in the January transfer window and has been put straight into the side by Luciano Spalletti.
It's an indescribable experience, Motta told Il Corriere dello Sport. I have said to my friends on many occasions that it's what I have inside that convinced Roma to bring me here.
The 22-year-old defender, who has already appeared for Roma in the Champions League, explained how his transfer came about.
I knew of Roma's interest in the last week of the January transfer window, it was Thursday, he said.
I was going through a strange time at Udinese. I felt proud, enthusiastic, but it's very easy to deceive yourself in certain situations.
Only when the deal reached its conclusion was I able to celebrate. And now I am here, he enthused.
When asked how he felt on making his debut for Roma against Genoa on February 8, Motta replied: In life everyone has a well defined role.
For me, it happened to be on the football field. There you measure yourself against an opponent, he explained.
There on the field, I have always looked to give my best and repay the faith that a lot of people have put in me.
The former Atalanta youngster then revealed he has finally found a house in Rome and is enjoying his new surroundings.
In the first few weeks I was trying to find a house. I have found one now. My family miss me a lot, but the move is a great opportunity and I have no regrets.
My points of reference are Trigoria and the Olimpico. I have yet to discover the city. Until recently my attention was focused on settling in as best I could, he concluded.
Motta expects to be named in the starting XI for Roma's game against Udinese, his old club, this weekend.
