Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko insists he is not finished and believes he still has a lot to give as a player.
The 32-year-old is currently on international duty with Ukraine despite having only played 901 minutes for the Rossoneri this season.
When asked if his teammates wondered why he had been called up, Shevchenko replied: They asked me how I am, and I am well.
I don't regret going back to Milan, he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. I needed to rejuvenate myself physically and I have done that.
I have not been used, but I always make myself available. When I came back I said that I would accept whatever I was given.
I knew that I would not be gifted anything, I knew that I would start off as Milan's last striker, he explained. But I will behave like a professional until the very end.
Returning to more pressing matters, Shevchenko is looking forward to facing England at the new Wembley on Wednesday evening.
This Ukraine side is young, it can grow, Shevchenko said. We know that England are one of the strongest national teams in the world and we hope to do something good at Wembley.
I have never played in the new stadium, I was injured when Chelsea got the chance to. I played at the old Wembley on two occasions.
The former Dynamo Kiev youngster would like to score his 40th goal for Ukraine against Fabio Capello's Three Lions.
I dream of a goal at Wembley because it would be my 40th for the national team, he concluded. Above all, I dream of a goal that would help us qualify.
