Stevan Jovetic impressed with Montenegro, but admits he can’t possibly be happy with his lack of first team football at Fiorentina.
The teenage forward is the star of his country and put in a good performance during their 2-0 World Cup qualifying defeat to Italy.
“We tried to play the Azzurri on level terms and knew it would not be easy,” he told Sky Italia television before looking towards his club career.
“I hope that from here to the end of the season I will be able to get as many games as possible with the Viola.
“I am training hard and working well. I don’t know why I am not playing, but that is the decision the Coach has made.”
Cesare Prandelli explained during a period of crisis earlier this month that Jovetic would be shelved until he could re-design the side with his tactical needs in mind next season.
“I am not angry, but neither am I happy, because clearly everyone always wants to play,” concluded the 19-year-old talent.
Jovetic is yet to score on Italian soil and has made 20 Serie A appearances this season, only 10 of them in the starting XI.
