Mourinho flies in for Inter talks?
Saturday 29 March, 2008

Reports in the Portuguese Press insist Jose Mourinho is flying in to Milan today for talks with Inter chief Massimo Moratti.

It is certainly not the first time that the former Chelsea Coach has been linked with the club, but rumours of advanced negotiations are getting stronger.

Roberto Mancini is feeling the pressure following their second round Champions League exit to Liverpool and failure to secure the Scudetto would see him move on.

According to Portuguese media Antena 1, Mourinho flew out to Italy this weekend to begin intense talks for the Inter job.

The report cited a member of Mourinho’s “close circle” as confirming the news the two parties were in negotiations.

Moratti has repeatedly denied he will seek another tactician, but Mancini weakened his position substantially in the wake of the Euro exit.

Mancio announced he was quitting in the post-match Press conference only to change his mind less than 24 hours later.

A series of touchline rows with the likes of Luis Figo, Patrick Vieira and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have also made his position shaky.

Perhaps worse than all of those, Mancini had a public disagreement with the Inter medical staff only for the club to back its doctors.
