Milan’s David Beckham has earned his 109th England cap, the highest number by an outfield player in history.
The midfielder came on for the second half of the friendly match against Slovakia at Wembley this evening.
His appearance allows Becks to overtake Sir Bobby Moore’s previous record of 108 games for England.
He may have the all-time record for an outfield player, but is still behind goalkeeper Peter Shilton’s tally of 125.
The 34-year-old aims to get closer to that target in the lead-up to the 2010 World Cup and explained this was why he decimated his wages to stay with Milan.
Beckham will return to LA Galaxy at the end of this season, but join the Rossoneri as a free agent thanks to a clause in his contract from November 2009.
