Juve agree Diego terms?
Saturday 28 March, 2009

According to newspaper reports, Diego has agreed a £3.7m per season deal with Juventus to take to Werder Bremen.

The 24-year-old Brazilian has been on the Bianconeri’s hit-list for some time and according to Turin-based paper Tuttosport this morning, negotiations have reached an advanced stage.

There is talk of a four-year deal with the player’s entourage worth around £3.7m per season – the same contract terms offered recently to Amauri.

Tuttosport claim a meeting with Werder Bremen directors is set for just before Easter, when the matter could finally be resolved one way or another.

Diego’s price-tag is said to be between £10-20m, but Juventus would cut into that by offering players as part of an exchange deal.

The main candidate to move on is Christian Poulsen, who has struggled for fitness and form since joining in the summer.

The terms of the contract would also be staggered, so for the first campaign he’d earn £3.5m rising to £4.2m in the final year.

It’s believed that 20 per cent of his wages would also be performance-related, tied to the results of the team, including Champions League qualification.
