Fiorentina talent Stevan Jovetic is yet to score his first Italian goal, so the Montenegro star hopes to do so against the Azzurri instead.
The 19-year-old was snapped up by the Viola in the summer, but questions over his tactical place within the team and a lack of consistency have seen him dropped to the bench.
“I am yet to score in Italian football, so it would be particularly nice to break that duck against the Azzurri,” he grinned.
“That would certainly be great, but if it meant Montenegro winning the match, then I would be willing to sit on the bench to make that happen.”
Tonight in Podgorica Jovetic’s Montenegro welcome Marcello Lippi’s side in a 2010 World Cup qualifier, which you can watch LIVE online.
“We are playing against the world champions and know full well it is going to be a difficult game. Paradoxically that can help us, as we have absolutely nothing to lose.
“We must stay calm and concentrated for the entire match, because just one mistake against Italy can cost you dearly.”
There is even more pressure on Jovetic’s shoulders, as teammate and Roma striker Mirko Vucinic is suspended, so he is now the main star in the team.
