Cagliari midfielder Daniele Conti is convinced that the Sardinians can secure a UEFA Cup place for next season.
The Rossoblu have exceeded all expectations this term under rookie Coach Massimiliano Allegri.
Rather than focusing on avoiding relegation, Cagliari are dreaming of a place in Europe.
I have to congratulate this group we have here, Conti declared.
It's not easy to get to 42 points, especially considering that we started the season by racking up a five-game handicap.
The fact is that we should be proud to be just four points behind Roma at this stage.
We have shown a lot of strength and we are still growing. We will try and book a place in next year's UEFA Cup, even if we know it will be difficult.
The main objective remains survival, but we have reached that and now we can look beyond.
After the international break, Cagliari will host Catania at the Stadio Sant'Elia.
