The agent of Inter full-back Maxwell, Mino Raiola, has denied rumours suggesting his client is on the brink of a move to Roma this summer.
The Brazil international has lost his place to Italy Under-21 starlet Davide Santon and is expected to leave Inter at the end of the season.
The Giallorossi have not contacted us, Raiola told Centro Suono Sport, before explaining Maxwell's situation in greater detail.
Maxwell has been marginalised in a bad way by Jose Mourinho. It's not the fault of Santon, who is playing very well. There is always competition within a team.
The ugly thing is how the situation has been managed, Raiola said. There is a contract here, but he doesn't want to sign it because of the Coach.
It's not Santon's problem, but Mourinho's. With regard to the future, we're open to moves within Italy or abroad. We have to evaluate the offers.
When asked again if Roma had made a bid for Maxwell, Raiola replied: No, there has been no contact with the Giallorossi.
Maxwell has still managed to make 21 appearances for Inter in Serie A this season and has scored one goal despite competition from the precocious Santon.
