Esteban Cambiasso has expressed his delight at earning a contract extension with Inter.
The Argentine midfielder netted against Reggina last weekend and was then offered an extension to his deal until 2014 - a significant show of faith in the 28-year-old.
“I am very happy and I feel like I am part of Inter's future,” Cambiasso told Inter's website.
“Ever since I first started playing football I have always said that the most important thing for a player is to feel useful.
“We don't choose our roles - that is up to the Coach. Whatever specific job he assigns to us we must do.”
Cambiasso has won comparisons to his idol former Milan midfielder Fernando Redondo.
“He has been a legend since I was a child,” he said. “I can't be compared to somebody I admired so much as a footballer and a professional.
