Moratti: We don't need Mancio back
Sunday 22 March, 2009

Inter President Massimo Moratti looks to the future with Jose Mourinho and laughs off calls for Roberto Mancini's return.

Mou's increased unpopularity has prompted some to suggest Mancio could make a comeback next season, especially as he is still under contract for another three years.

“At this moment we need common sense and that's what Mourinho has,” commented Moratti.

“Mancini is right to say he is still under contract, but if we were able to resolve the matter then he could say something else.

“We already have a very interesting Coach who is talented and has not yet reached his potential here.”

Mourinho and Moratti met this week to discuss the transfer policy for next season with a reported £70m on the table to renovate the squad.

There are some problems too, as Zlatan Ibrahimovic - whose brace in the 3-0 win over Reggina today made him Capocannoniere - is seeking more money.

“I am used to this situation,” smiled the patron. “I have already spoken to Mourinho and many may assume these are negotiations in grand rooms with 15 butlers, but the conversations can also be while walking down a corridor.

“According to what I read in the papers, I am supposed to spend four times as much as I have. We just need some slight adjustments and to focus on youngsters.

“We have a youth academy that produces many talented players, so we'll above all look there.”
