| Prandelli revs up the Viola |

Cesare Prandelli thinks the Tuscan derby with Siena is the perfect time for Fiorentina and their fans to rediscover their enthusiasm. The mood in the Viola camp has been downbeat recently after back-to-back 2-0 defeats against Palermo and Inter, which lost them fourth place. It will be important to create the right atmosphere so we can come together with our fans, declared the tactician. We want to be centre-stage again, but a lot of that will depend on our attitude. I will field the same XI that took on Inter and want to see that attacking approach right from the start. If Fiorentina are troubled then their local rivals are in a worse condition, as Siena were hammered 5-1 on home turf by Milan last Sunday. I fear and respect Siena's unity and organisation, as they never just pass the ball around randomly hoping to find an opening, continued Prandelli. I don't want to run too many risks, as this game can be decided over the course of 90 minutes with a well-thought-out plan. The Coach has been adjusting his tactics recently with Felipe Melo given a new central role behind the strikers. Felipe Melo is not a trequartista, but our idea has always been to give our opponents no real reference points to defend against, so we can always spread the ball around. Prandelli famously criticised the local media for attacking him and the team after their UEFA Cup exit to Ajax, but the city is trying to show its love. Over 6,000 people have already signed a petition on Violanews to make Prandelli an honorary citizen of Florence.
