Prince Alberto stays humble
Thursday 20 March, 2008

Milan starlet Alberto Paloschi found the net against Sampdoria last night, but he isn’t letting himself get carried away. "I'm still a youth player."

The Rossoneri fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to Samp last night and their Champions League qualification chances look increasingly slim.

“There’s some regret that we didn’t get three points yesterday evening,” Paloschi told the Milan Channel.

“The way that the game went, a point would have been good, but we didn’t manage it.”

Paloschi’s strike was a bright spot on a bleak evening for the world champions and helped assert the 18-year-old’s credentials for a more active role in the first-team next term.

“One of my characteristics is that I keep believing to the end and chase every ball until it is off the pitch or the goalkeeper has it,” the prodigious marksman explained.

“At half-time yesterday, Pippo Inzaghi advised me to play between the two central defenders and a little deeper. He is always right and his words mean a lot to me.

“I see the youth team as my squad. I didn’t expect to make so many appearances in the first-team this season because at the start of the campaign I was struggling to even get into the Primavera. I have worked hard and slowly arrived at this point.”
