| | | | | | Novellino confident in Cagliari |
Sunday 1 March, 2009 | |
Walter Novellino is confident Torino can cause an upset away to high-flying Cagliari, even though he is missing several key players. I trust this squad and we are convinced that we can do well in Sardinia, grinned the tactician. We have more than a few problems for the line-up. [Blerim] Dzemaili has a temperature, [Marco] Di Loreto has back pain, [Aimo] Diana is suffering from sciatica and [Nicola] Ventola has a muscular injury. I am evaluating several different options to replace Dzemaili, but I have great faith in these lads, so whoever takes to the field will give their best. Torino looked dead and buried a few weeks ago, but have rediscovered some form after a series of five draws and a 1-0 win over Udinese. However, they visit a Cagliari side who have won eight and drawn one of their last 10 home games. This is an important match in an arena where Cagliari have shown all their quality, continued Novellino. We are coming here after a series of good results and have everything we need to impress in Sardinia, too. We still have a lot to improve on, above all the final ball and keeping possession, but Eugenio Corini is helping us a great deal in that respect and his fitness is better with every game. | |
