Galliani tired of Inter
Monday 16 March, 2009

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani is sick and tired of talking about rivals Inter and will refrain from doing so until the end of the season.

The Rossoneri have been embroiled in a very public feud with the Nerazzurri ever since Jose Mourinho made some disparaging remarks about Carlo Ancelotti late last week.

“From now on we will never speak of Inter or Mourinho and I invite them in Nerazzurro to do the same,” Galliani explained.

The 64-year-old kept his word and promptly changed the subject from Inter to Milan's excellent performance against Siena on Sunday.

The Rossoneri won 5-1 in Tuscany thanks to goals from Andrea Pirlo, Alexandre Pato and the evergreen Pippo Inzaghi.

The day was particularly special for Inzaghi, who scored his 300th career goal, and Galliani was keen to lavish praise on the 35-year-old.

“Inzaghi is phenomenal,” he said. “Every year when the spring arrives he comes out of his shell. He has an incredible sense for goal.

“We haven't even had time to prepare a party,” Galliani joked. “He has scored five goals in two games.”

Milan also had cause to be upset on Sunday, though, after goalkeeper Christian Abbiati suffered a serious knee injury that will keep him out of action for the rest of the season.

“It's not any old injury,” Galliani revealed. “The knee twisted strangely. Fortunately in Dida we have a substitute of the highest level.”

Milan currently lie third in Serie A, 12 points behind League leaders Inter, who beat Fiorentina 2-0 on Sunday evening.
