Sebastian Giovinco points out he has different characteristics to Pavel Nedved and would prefer to play in another position.
The 20-year-old support striker has been repeatedly used on the left side of midfield when Nedved is out injured and proved inspirational in last night’s 4-1 win over Bologna.
“I try to do my best on the field. I cannot say any more than that, as the only thing I can do is play well and help the team,” said the ‘Atomic Ant.’
“The Coach knows the position where I give my best. I am happy to play, don’t get me wrong.
“It’s just that there are some situations where I have to keep coming back to help out the defence and I find I’m not as sharp when attacking. I don’t have Nedved’s stamina, so that is a bit of a problem for me.”
Giovinco set up Hasan Salihamidzic’s goal, scored the second and hit the woodwork against Bologna, but admits he scuffed the strike.
“I was lucky! I tried to hit it with the outside of my foot not quite that much on the outside, but near enough…”
The youngster is not upset by newspaper talk of Diego or Antonio Cassano coming in to the Juventus side during the summer.
“I welcome any great talents to Juventus, as the more we play with the ball to feet then the better it is for players like me. I am much happier if we pass the ball around that way.”
