Quaresma key to Carvalho?
Saturday 14 March, 2009

Ricardo Quaresma could be used to fund Inter’s renovation in exchange for either Ricardo Carvalho or Bruno Alves.

The Portuguese winger was brought in under the strict instructions of Jose Mourinho just before the end of the summer transfer market, but was a flop and has been loaned to Chelsea.

Now the Nerazzurri plan to at least recoup some of the £20m spent by using him to lure a new defender to San Siro.

Once again Mourinho is reportedly looking for a Portuguese international and has set his sights on Chelsea’s Ricardo Carvalho.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Quaresma would be used as bait to release Carvalho from Stamford Bridge.

Quaresma could also be offered to his former club Porto in order to bring in Bruno Alves.

Newspapers in Italy today suggest that Mourinho has set out a list of changes to bring Inter Champions League success, but it would cost around £70m.
