Maxwell has been dropped by Jose Mourinho, but could cross San Siro to play for Milan next season instead.
The Brazilian left-back has been increasingly pushed out of the Inter line-up by the emergence of teenage sensation Davide Santon.
He is set to leave the Nerazzurri at the end of this term, but according to reports in this morning’s edition of the Corriere dello Sport, he won’t be going far.
It’s claimed Milan talent scout Leonardo has pin-pointed Maxwell as their new left-back, therefore allowing Marek Jankulovski to push up into a more advanced wide midfield role.
The Rossoneri would be able to bag a bargain, as Maxwell’s contract expires in July 2010, so rather than risk losing him on a free transfer, they would accept a bid of £3m or less.
The 27-year-old spent most of his career at Ajax, joining Inter in 2006-07. He made 32 Serie A appearances last season, but so far this term has managed only 16 starts.
