Palermo defender Federico Balzaretti thinks the Rosanero couldn’t be meeting Inter at a worse time when they travel to San Siro this weekend.
It has been a traumatic week for the Nerazzurri after they were eliminated from the Champions League by Liverpool and saw Roberto Mancini nearly tender his resignation.
Palermo arrive in Milan looking to get their UEFA Cup qualification bid back on track after two draws, but Balzaretti knows they will be facing an angry side.
“I think that Inter will be angrier after their Champions League exit,” the former Fiorentina man declared.
“I think that it is the worst time to be taking them on because they will be focused and determined to tighten their grip on a Scudetto that isn’t in the bag.
“We approach this game after a good period and we want to prove ourselves to be a true force by taking our chances.
“They will obviously try to start quickly and control the game and we will have to be careful, but we have nothing to lose and we certainly aren’t scared.”
