Friday 13 March, 2009 | | There are reports that Fiorentina have seen a bid for Benfica attacking starlet Jonathan Urretavizcaya rejected.
The 18-year-old Uruguayan marksman started his career at River Plate in his homeland and made a name for himself quickly with eight goals in 15 games.
Urretavizcaya then moved to Portuguese giants Benfica in July 2008 for just over £1.2m.
Dangerous as a winger or a hitman, Urretavizcaya has attracted interest from a number of sides, but Fiorentina are at the head of the queue.
According to the Correio de Manha, the Viola have already tabled a bid of just under £6m for Urretavizcaya, but Benfica flatly rejected it.
Benfica currently have Inter man David Suazo on loan, but he is expected to return to San Siro in the summer.
If Suazo leaves, Luis Filipe Vieira's club are unlikely to let Urretavizcaya go as well.
