Dejan Stankovic and Esteban Cambiasso aren't convinced that Inter boss Roberto Mancini meant to announce his exit last night.
Mancini stunned the calcio world by declaring that he was keen to leave the Nerazzurri at the end of the season after last night’s Champions League exit at the hands of Liverpool.
The former Fiorentina man claimed to have already told the players his decision and that it wasn’t a rash statement, but Cambiasso seems less than convinced.
“You need to listen to what he said,” the former Real Madrid man insisted. “He used the word ‘probably’ and that signifies that he isn’t certain.
“When it is definite there will be a reaction, but I don’t think it is right to comment in the heat of the moment.”
Dejan Stankovic was one of the last players to hear the news and was also less than convinced that Mancini meant his words.
“I only found out late because I was having a drugs test,” the Serbian star explained.
“I think that the decision was made by the emotion of the night and that he will talk about things with the directors tomorrow.”
So far, President Massimo Moratti has refused to comment, but he is expected to make a statement shortly.
