Former Real Madrid President Florentino Perez is expected to make Carlo Ancelotti his No 1 target if re-elected this summer.
Perez, who famously ushered in the Galacticos era while Madrid President between 2000 and 2006, is a keen admirer of the Milan Coach.
The 62-year-old is currently drawing up a manifesto full of star names capable of wooing voters, as he prepares for the club's presidential election on July 5.
One of those star names is reported to be Zinedine Zidane, who is being lined up as a technical director in Perez's new administration.
The former Juventus midfielder recently told French newspaper L'Equipe that he would be interested in such a role.
I would like to be an adviser. There is a possibility that it might happen if Perez returns, he said. I want to return to football.
Zidane could be the bait that lures Ancelotti away from the Milan bench, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Ancelotti coached the French master for two seasons while at Juventus and is believed to enjoy a good relationship with him.
Doubt continues to shroud Ancelotti's future at Milan, as his side have largely disappointed this season.
The Rossoneri are 12 points adrift of leaders Inter in Serie A and were knocked out of the UEFA Cup by Werder Bremen.
