Edwin orders same again
Wednesday 11 March, 2009

Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin Van Der Sar thinks the Red Devils will beat Inter tonight if they repeat their first leg performance.

The European champions were held to a 0-0 draw at San Siro, but they had the better chances to win the game.

United will start as firm favourites at Old Trafford as they look to book their place in the quarter-finals and Van Der Sar is full of confidence.

“We had a few chances in the first half of the first leg and it would have been nice if we had scored one of those to take a lead into this game,” the Dutch 'keeper told Sky Sports.

“However, we aren't disheartened. We just have to show the same attributes as we did in Milan when we face them at Old Trafford.

The former Fulham man also discussed the way he wants to see United play.

“As a goalkeeper you always want to see the team play a bit more defensively than the midfielders or strikers do,” he said.

“The manager is also aware that it is important we don't concede, but there is a need to attack.

“It is important that we are confident and positive but that we also pay respect to Inter's qualities.”
