Inter captain Javier Zanetti has revealed how proud he is to lead the Nerazzurri after their centenary celebrations yesterday.
The legendary Argentine ace has made over 500 appearances in 13 years at Interello and has led Roberto Mancini's side to consecutive Scudetti.
“It is a huge emotion because to be part of this club and the history of this great Inter is, for me, a motive of pride,” he beamed.
“To be captain on days like these… Well, I really couldn't ask for more.”
Inter remain on track for another Serie A championship after their 2-0 victory against Reggina on Saturday.
And there is good news from the treatment room ahead of their Champions League clash with Liverpool tomorrow night.
Inter have a 2-0 deficit to make up from the first leg at Anfield if they are to progress to the quarter-finals.
However, Romanian defender Cristian Chivu and Argentine attacker Hernan Crespo will be available to Mancini.
Chivu, who dislocated his shoulder against Napoli a week ago, has been given the all clear but will need a painkilling injection before the Reds' trip to San Siro.
Crespo, while not expected to start, has recovered from bruising to the head and thigh sustained on Saturday evening.
