| Italy's 2016 rivals announced |

Italy will have three competitors in their bid to host the 2016 European Championship.
The peninsula hasn't hosted a major competition since the 1990 World Cup.
After any chance of taking over the hosting of Euro 2012 was ruled out when Ukraine and Poland met the necessary requirements, Italy presented an application to host the 2016 tournament.
Italy will have to beat France, Turkey and Sweden and Norway if they are to stage the big event.
The hard work begins now and the final decision will be made in May 2010.
