Dzeko accepts Milan
Tuesday 9 June, 2009

Milan have reportedly agreed terms with Bosnia striker Edin Dzeko and now have to come up with an offer that suits his club, Wolfsburg.

La Gazzetta dello Sport believe Dzeko will be the first acquisition of the post-Kaka Milan, however, he is unlikely to come cheap.

The 23-year-old won the Player of the Year award in Germany after scoring 32 goals in 34 appearances last season.

He is being valued at around £30m and that figure could increase what with Wolfsburg knowing Milan have just cashed a cheque for £56m from Real Madrid.

According to Bild, Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani was in Sarajevo on Saturday to speak with the player, who is currently on international duty with Bosnia.

That trip was apparently a waste of time, but sufficient contact has been made with Dzeko, suggesting he would sign for Milan.

Dzeko is said to earn around £600,000 a year at Wolfsburg and Milan would be able to offer him much better terms.

The Rossoneri have to be careful, though, as, after signing Thiago Silva, they only have one place left in their squad for a non-EU citizen.

Dzeko is also being courted by Arsenal and has been compared with Luca Toni, the Italy striker who plays for Bayern Munich.
