Inter striker Hernan Crespo is having a medical with Genoa and admits the club have really impressed him over the last year.
The 33-year-old Argentine had also been linked with Fiorentina, but revealed he had been struck by the enthusiasm of Genoa President Enrico Preziosi.
Genoa are an emerging team that has done very well. For me, it's a new challenge. I will put all my professionalism and desire into this adventure, Crespo said.
I spoke with Preziosi and he soon convinced me he had focused on a man and not a player. I make no promises to the fans.
I'll only say that I will put all the professionalism I have shown throughout my career on the pitch next season, he concluded.
Crespo comes off a difficult year with Inter, for whom he scored two goals in just two starts this season.
He remains one of the most feared strikers in Italy, though, some 13 years after he first arrived on the peninsula with Parma.
