Felipe Melo has thanked Fiorentina for taking him to the Selecao, but admits Inter intrigue him. “Jose Mourinho is the best.”
The Brazilian midfielder has impressed in his debut Serie A season and earned interest from the Scudetto winners.
“I don’t want to talk about the transfer market any more,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“It’s a good life in Florence and there is a Brazilian style of enthusiasm. We are not so far from Juventus and Milan, as only Inter proved themselves to be from another planet.
“I read that there was tension in the locker room, but it’s not true. Fiorentina have a great squad and team spirit.
“I will always keep in my heart the celebrations after we secured Champions League qualification.”
However, Melo admits he is considering a switch to San Siro after receiving interest from the Nerazzurri.
“I am crazy about Mourinho, he is the best and his exceptional CV shows that. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is also a champion.”
One of the problems surrounding the Brazilian is his disciplinary record, something he concedes.
“Perhaps I picked up a few too many yellow cards, but a certain aggressive approach is necessary in my role. I have never hurt an opponent.”
Melo was handed a five-match ban, reduced to three, following a brawl in the players’ tunnel with Cagliari defender Diego Lopez.
