Christian Panucci’s contract expires at the end of this month, but his agent reveals he could still remain at Roma.
The defender was frozen out of the squad and put on the transfer market in January following a blazing row with Coach Luciano Spalletti, but did not find another club.
“The rapport with Spalletti has been fixed and he could stay,” revealed agent Fabio Parisi.
“That is not to say Roma will be his definitive destination. Right now he is enjoying a deserved summer holiday.
“Christian needs to recharge his batteries after a long and stressful season, so we will consider his future later on.”
The 36-year-old defender had been linked with a move to Fiorentina among others, but the agent put on the brakes.
“I don’t think he is in the plans of [Coach Cesare] Prandelli, and in any case I have not yet spoken to their director of sport [Pantaleo] Corvino.”
