Livorno go for Acori
Wednesday 4 June, 2008

Newly relegated Livorno have appointed former Rimini Coach Leonardo Acori as they new Coach.

The Tuscans dropped out of the top flight last term after being cut adrift at the bottom under Fernando Orsi and Giancarlo Camolese.

But President Aldo Spinelli is planning to rebuild his deflated club and return to the big time and sees Acori as the man to do that.

“Spinelli has assured me that he wants to build a project to take this club back into Serie A within two years,” Acori said at today’s unveiling.

“It will be much more difficult to go up straight away next season, even if we will try.

“But I want to avoid any big declarations because I prefer to do my talking on the pitch.”

Acori is the architect of Rimini’s recent rise from Serie C minnows to high-flying Second Division contenders.
