The prospect of Roma signing Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko this summer is growing more distant by the minute.
The Giallorossi are in the market for a target man who can take the weight off Francesco Totti and Mirko Vucinic.
Pavlyuchenko is said to be on Roma's shortlist along with Andriy Shevchenko and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
However, the Times understands Tottenham have received an offer for Pavlyuchenko from Spanish side Villarreal.
If the deal goes through, Pavlyuchenko will in all likelihood form a striker partnership with Juventus target Giuseppe Rossi.
