German champions Wolfsburg have confirmed that Edin Dzeko will stay at the club despite fervent interest from Milan.
The 23-year-old Bosnia international striker, who was named Bundesliga Player of the Year, is the Rossoneri's No 1 transfer target this summer.
He has spoken of his desire to move to Milan, but Wolfsburg are unwilling to sell him.
Edin Dzeko: 100 per cent Wolfsburg, read a statement on the club's website.
From Saturday, Dzeko is at training camp in Sylt.
After a meeting to clarify his future with the directors, now it is certain: He stays at Wolfsburg.
Dzeko himself reacted to the news, which seemingly kills any chances of him leaving this summer.
I find myself well in Wolfsburg. I want to dedicate myself to the championship and I am happy about being able to play in the Champions League, he said.
In the next few years I will 100 per cent play for Wolfsburg.
Yesterday Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani said that if he didn't hear anything positive by Wednesday he would start looking for alternatives.
The Rossoneri are now believed to be looking at Sevilla's Luis Fabiano and Arsenal's Emmanuel Adebayor.
