Sao Paulo midfielder Hernanes continues to be linked with Milan but has yet to receive an offer from the Italian giants.
The 24-year-old Brazilian, who was named the most promising footballer in the world by the Times, is being touted as the natural heir to Kaka.
However, a number of obstacles appear to be getting in the way of a move to Milan.
The Rossoneri only have two slots in this year's squad for non-EU players.
Thiago Silva is one and Edin Dzeko will be the other if he joins Milan from Wolfsburg this summer.
Consequently, there would be no space for Hernanes until 2010.
We are waiting for the situation to evolve. Milan are among the many the clubs that have asked for information about the player and his price, but an official offer has yet to arrive from Italy and from Germany, his agent, Federico Augusto Pena, told calciomercato.it.
Sao Paulo have fixed a rather high price for the boy, Pena concluded.
Hernanes is currently being valued at £34m.
