Chelsea are back on the trail of Alexandre Pato, who wants 'technical guarantees' before committing his future to Milan.
The 19-year-old Brazil international has been unsettled since the end of last season.
His mentor, Carlo Ancelotti, left for Chelsea and was replaced by Leonardo.
Ancelotti has made no secret of his desire to take him to London.
Earlier this month, Pato said he would like to speak to Ancelotti before telling Milan whether he intends to stay for next season.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Internacional youngster wants Leonardo to promise him a place in the starting XI.
Even under Ancelotti, Pato only started 27 games last year.
He would also like to know what position he will play in Rossonero.
Ideally, Pato sees himself as an outside forward, coming in from the left.
He would apparently be more inclined to stay with Milan if they played a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Pato's unrest also stems from his status within the Brazil team.
Dunga sees him as an alternative to Robinho up front.
Therefore, he needs regular first team football if he is to win himself a place in next year's World Cup squad.
Money is also playing a part in his demands.
Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi has described Pato as 'the heir to Kaka'.
Consequently, Pato feels he should be paid accordingly.
He knows Chelsea can afford to offer him a lucrative contract.
Milan's directors will meet to discuss his concerns later today.
