| Viola order Cruz missile |

After missing out on Hernan Crespo, Fiorentina have now turned their attention to another out of contract Inter player in the shape of Julio Cruz.
The Viola are keen on signing a forward after selling Giampaolo Pazzini to Sampdoria in January, as well as wanting to reduce the goal burden on Alberto Gilardino and Adrian Mutu.
Crespo was wanted and talks took place, but the former Milan and Chelsea man opted for a better contract at Genoa instead.
As a result Fiorentina have been forced to look elsewhere and Cruz, given his Bosman status, is an attractive proposition.
The veteran striker has proved his ability in front of goal in recent seasons and is set to leave San Siro given that boss Jose Mourinho doesnt seem totally convinced by his ability.
But there is no lack of faith in him in Florence after boss Cesare Prandelli and sporting director Pantaleo Corvino discussed transfer strategy last week.
Its understood that initial talks between the parties have taken place which has resulted in a two-year deal being agreed.
However, there is still some dispute over salary as what Cruz wants and what the Viola are ready to offer is a stumbling block for now.
