Fiorentina midfielder Felipe Melo admits he is flattered by rumours linking him with a move to Inter, but insists he is going nowhere.
The 25-year-old, who is currently on international duty with Brazil, is in demand after a good first season in Italy.
Yesterday, Maicon, his international teammate, joked that Melo was willing to do anything to join Inter.
I read the comments Maicon made in the last few hours. I would therefore like to make clear that his words were said in a purely jokey tone and beyond jokes between friends I never offered myself to Inter, Melo said.
It's clear that interest from big clubs makes me happy because it shows I have worked well, but I would like to once again confirm that I am very well in Florence and have a great relationship with my teammates, the club and the fans.
I am now concentrating on doing well with my national team. I thank Maicon again for the compliments he made me regarding my wonderful season in Viola.
Melo then apologised if comments he made about Gigi Buffon got taken out of context.
I never meant to say that Buffon speaks too much and needs to shut up. I only wanted to say a few words that were totally positive towards him, saying that he is a champion and has a right to speak, seeing the wholly justified sense of confidence he has in himself.
My words were totally distorted. I would never allow myself to speak to a great player and man like Buffon in the way it was reported.
In the same statement, I, in fact, added that it will be a difficult game against a tough and expert opponent, who are not by chance holders of the World Cup, Melo concluded.
