The Sensi family have not agreed to sell Roma to a Swiss consortium headed by football agent Vinicio Fioranelli contrary to reports in the Italian Press.
The news came in a statement released by Italpetroli, the company run by the Sensi family, which owns a majority stake in Roma.
Italpetroli has considerable financial problems and is being kept afloat by a multi-million pound loan from Italian bank Unicredit.
In order to service the loan, Unicredit have asked Italpetroli to find a buyer for Roma, which is one of its most lucrative assets.
Fioranelli is just one of several candidates proposing to take the club off the Sensi family's hands.
This morning, Il Corriere dello Sport reported that Italpetroli's financial adviser, Mediobanca, was still checking his credentials.
With reference to what has been reported today and yesterday evening by some organs of the press regarding the acquisition of the majority stake in Roma, Italpetroli would like to clarify that there is no deal with Fioranelli of any kind, a statement read.
In addition, Italpetroli made clear that a deal for the club will not be done by June 22 as some reports in the Italian Press have suggested.
