Felipe Melo has told Gigi Buffon to shut up after he predicted Italy would beat Brazil in the Confederations Cup.
Buffon was talking in the aftermath of Italy's 1-0 defeat to Egypt on Thursday night, which put his side's place in the competition at risk.
The Azzurri need a positive result against Brazil on Sunday night if they are to keep alive their hopes of making the Semi-Final.
Buffon said he was confident Italy would beat Brazil twice, first on Sunday night and then in the Final.
Buffon speaks too much, but tomorrow he risks being shut up. It seems to me he is exaggerating how confident he is, Melo told TV Globo.
Anyway Buffon has a right to say his peace what with Italy being world champions. He and all of Italy are expert people and so we know tomorrow will be a difficult game.
However, we want to win and conquer first place in the group, Melo concluded.
