Milan have identified Cagliari and Italys Federico Marchetti as their goalkeeper of the future, according to reports.
The talented Marchetti has caught the eye of numerous clubs after his sensational debut campaign for the Sardinians.
After receiving the attention of Napoli and winning his first international cap in the recent friendly over Northern Ireland, Milan are said to have agreed a deal with Cagliari.
According to whispers, the Rossoneri have assured themselves of his services for the 2010-11 campaign onwards.
But why not immediately? Milan want Marchetti, who was born in 1983, to gain more top-flight experience at Cagliari before bringing him in when Nelson Didas contract expires next summer.
The San Siro giants are understood to have agreed a fee of around £7m with Rossoblu chief Massimo Cellino for the keepers future services.
In other goalkeeping transfer news, Bologna are looking for a new custodian. Lokomotiv Moscows Ivan Pelizzoli and Matteo Sereni of Torino are liked.
