Roma have contacted Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre for a return to Serie A.
I am afraid the situation with Silvestre has been complicated, revealed Bordeaux director Marius Tresor.
I met him recently and he told me he had just been contacted by Roma.
Both clubs are interested in the player, but there is the risk hell find a permanent transfer to Roma more attractive than a loan to Bordeaux.
It would be a return to the peninsula for Silvestre, who flopped in his one year at Inter in 1998-99, making just 18 Serie A appearances.
The French defender turns 31 in August and has been at Manchester United since completing a £3.5m move in 1999.
He can play both centre-back and left-back, so his versatility would be of interest to the Giallorossi.
His fitness could be a concern, though, as he was out for seven months with knee ligament damage and made his comeback in April.
